Through this prayer, we plead for healing for those who are unwell, financial support for the poor, and peace and wellness for Israel and all of humankind. The town of Liska has always been cherished in the Jewish community, notably for the Liska Rebbe’s creation of a famous synagogue that ranked among Europe’s largest at that time. The spirit of the town and its tzadik endures brightly in Jewish communities, with many visiting to ask for blessings in accordance with the Kivrei Tzadikim tradition.

Known as Rebbe Hershele Lisker (רבי הערשעלע ליסקער) or Zvi Hirsh Friedmann (צבי הירש פרידמאן), this distinguished author of Ach Pri Tevu'ah (אך פרי תבואה) ranks among the great Hasidic leaders, with teachings that continue to inspire his disciples. The Rebbe’s deep Torah knowledge and Hasidic wisdom were shaped by his time as a disciple of the famous Teitelbaum Moshe zt"l (משה טייטלבוים זצ״ל), also known as the Yismach Moshe (ישמח משה). The enduring disciple relationship is vibrant in Hasidic communities, notably among Satmar adherents, who pay tribute to the memories of Teitelbaum and Rebbe Hershele Lisker.

Hasidic communities around the world, whether in Borough Park, Williamsburg, or any part of Israel, hold the town of Liska and the merit of the Liska Rebbe in the highest regard. Recognized as one of the key Kivrei Tzadikim locations, the Liska cemetery is a place where prayers are infused with unique strength through the tzadik's merit. On the anniversary of the Rebbe's passing, or yahrzeit (יארצייט), a multitude of people journeys here to pray and seek blessings for their families and the wider community.

The spiritual legacy of the Liska Rebbe, which he left us through works like Ach Pri Tevu'ah (אך פרי תבואה) and Hayoshor veHatov (הישר והטוב), continues to inspire and guide Jewish communities around the world. Liska is a sacred land that embodies past miracles and blessings while continuing to serve as a site where prayers, steeped in deep faith, resonate and bestow blessings on all visitors.
